DTH Mensa is a multi function building connecting existing buildings on a large hospital site inn Nanjing China. The project firstly rationalizes and connects different levels through a series of ramped platforms to allow continuous movement, to connect a loop from building to building. The project houses cafeteria, office and meeting spaces and this diverse program is linked together by s single loaded corridor.
The facade design is a low cost shading strategy that allows the use of a simple, inexpensive glass curtain wall system combines with a shading system utilising PTFE membranes in a stepped grid pattern which relates back to the other facade designs of adjacent buildings on site, unifying the scheme identity.
