To relocate a person from their community, from the environment that they lived in often for several decades prior, in order to locate them in a space that can accommodate increasing levels of care as one ages is an increasingly complex issue in China.

Social and economic norms from previous generations, where cohabitation of several generations provided a safety net for the old and care needy, is slowly disappearing with the modernisation and increasing migration of people from rural to city, from the home to the office.

A solution for aged care in modern China must seeks to create a feeling of home, of community, co-living and connection between occupants and also the wider community. The program of Changzhou Home is intended to replicate the complex social and demographic structures of people’s lives within a care environment. Encouraging different function groups, age groups and diverse modes of occupation throughout the project creates a sense of ownership, belonging and home.

ModHomes Model 3

The Model 3 is a flat roofed large, luxury modern home made from the ModHomes construction system. Cross Laminated Timber forms both structure and skin, when combined with heavy natural insulation this creates a very high performance building envelope suitable for all climates. Wide balconies and fenestration link exterior with interior and large panel sizes create open interior plans the feel luxurious and open.

ModHomes Model 4

A series of 2 and 3 floor cross laminated timber hosing designs, intended to be precision manufactured in factory, delivered and assembled as a kit of minimal parts to form a very high end, high performance and sustainable alternative to traditional housing typologies. Model 2 ranges from 70-230m2 and meets the highest local environmental and building performance standards in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Exposed ceilings and services create variation in the ceiling and allow the ceiling height to be kept as high as possible for a feeling of airiness and ventilation. Bright Stars

Bright Stars training centre is a re-use of a former office building. The focus of the design was to offer a large multifunctional communal space in addition to classroom spaces. A large unifying stair element links the lower and upper floors and offers an informal aurditorium type space adjacent to the play area.

Rail Yards

As part of a wider rejuvenation project of old train and pharmaceutical manufacturing yards in the north east of Chengdu, China, This primarily landscape design project reimagines the industrial setting as a park for gathering, events, interaction and celebration.

Through introduction a series of pavilions, landscaped paths and places for events this park becomes a celebration of past heritage and future possibilities. The local government asked for functionality that supported the local marriage registration office and so the park and buildings are design to support and offer related services and spaces that show the romantic side of what once was an underutilized but important part of the cities historical built environment.

HCG Hospital

HCG Vijayawada is a 15 year old building that needed a facelift on the outside with renovation of public spaces and wards. As a Design build project, our focus is to execute the project with less interference to daily functioning of the hospital and to complete in a very short time. Design planning is done in a phase wise manner to enable smooth operations for the hospital.

Villa for Ramesh

Located in a dense locality in the city of Visakhapatnam, the villa is designed on a small plot of 145 sq.mt. With existing buildings on all 3 sides and a minor road on the west side, the challenge is to bring nature and lightness to the interior. This is achieved by setting up a courtyard open to sky in the center of the house surrounded by all the functions of the house. Family room, kitchen and dining opens up onto the yard thus becoming the heart of the house where all family meet and spend quality time together. Bedrooms with a study on floors above will be more private to meet the requirement of the family.

On the ground level, outdoor seating towards the street brings a strong connection to the street and neighborhood. A rooftop garden combined with a gym completes the home!
