A multi center international hospital with a prominent focus on research as the core element of the project.

Project focus:

1. Internationalization:

The trend of internationalization is to provide special services for population classification. The university- based centers for population and the medium-sized centers for organ classification form a three-dimensional matrix combination facilitate the organization of patients and doctors.

2. Smart:

The involvement of large-scale logistics system and intelligent system will make the position of the hospital’s specialized services more free. At the same time, the interaction between medical staff and researchers and the close connection of the back-court will become an important feature of the future intelligent hospital.

3. Research type:

The research advantage of the hospital is to rely on clinic. The design of the research pool in the clinical back-court closely links the whole hospital’s clinical and back-court research. Form a future-oriented scientific research bridge.

The Wuxi Hospital is a very large project that will become the new campus for two existing local hospitals to join together, share resource and grow into the future.  The project concept focuses on a multi-centric, independent access, dependent operation model with a central core that achieves staffing and medical resource efficiency.

The facade design utilises a double skin system with an external mesh layer providing sun shading for the main facade to reduce the solar heat loading on the building and to make the depth of the window reveal feel very private in order to give a feeling of intimacy for occupants.  Central courtyard puncture each block from roof to basement level to draw light into all rooms and to reduce the depth of the building unless medical function requires it.

The Wuhan Health Campus is a large, city district level health eco park situated in to the north of the main Wuhan city areas.  The project is sited in an area that will be developed and grow over time over the next 10 years.  The health campus is a catalyst development to provide services for this new district and is designed to evolve and grow as the population increases.

The medical campus is comprised of 4 sub-center hospital departments, joined at the center to allow for resource sharing but open to the exterior in order to allow each campus sub-section to grow in a modular way as the city and community needs are determined.

There is a strong focus on connection and restoration of the wetland environment of the site.

Located in Sichuan province, this 24,000 hotel, villa and mixed use development references local architecture typologies in a modern way.  The low lying nature of the site topography lends itself to the creation of a wall upon which the buildings are situated with and internal lake and external river bordering the buildings and creating high value and great views from all areas of the project.  The roof forms are designed to break up the bulk of the building especially when viewed from across the river where the desire to retain the natural beauty of the island is considered key.

Situated in the beautiful mountainous region of Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan Province, the JZG tourist centre is the starting point for the journey into the world heritage park.  The design program combines a drop off point for arriving travellers, a shuttle service terminal, restaurant, tourism information and ticketing and supporting commercial functions.

The site is situated in the centre of a valley and so the building form was kept low and echoed the forms of the surrounding mountains to respect the site conditions.  By placing all the transit functions in the basement the landscape is relatively free of obstruction and keeps the natural views more pure.  Natural timber cladding designed to age to silver to further blend the building into the natural surroundings.
