The Haimen Nuclear Medicine Hospital is the first stage in a very large urban planning proposal for a ecologically centered medical park. The project aims to find the nexus of location, clinical need, nuclear isotope production and research potential to find a suitable project to pitch to the local government who are looking for proposals for future investment.
As important as the architectural and medical design was the design of the business case, to prove the validity of the proposal that would then generate the opportunity for an architectural and urban scheme proposal.
The design is shown as a somewhat modular element that may grow over time as the proposal takes form and grows into a destination for research, production, clinical outcomes and city making development.
